Mixed Berry Chia Jam
Mixed Berry Chia Jam
YOU NEED:
- 2 cups of your favorite frozen berries (we used raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries)
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional for extra sweetness)
DIRECTIONS:
1) Heat frozen berries in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring often with a rubber spatula.
2) When berries defrost over the heat mash them gently while you stir to bring out the juices.
3) Simmer over medium-low heat until reduced by half, continuing to stir and monitor so it does not bubble over, approximately 20 minutes.
4) Stir in chia seeds and optional sweetener. Let cool.
5) Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in a sealed jar or container. Makes approximately 16 oz. Spread on toast with your favorite Julie’s Real Nut Butter!
